I struggled to find a DIL TS12A4514 without excessive shipping cost, this halted my completing the Dream 6809 machine. I eventually decided to try the SOT-23 version which are available to me. I soldered one onto a 8 pin dil header and fitted it into the socket on the board. I had to buy 5 chips, good job I did because I messed up with the first and it didn't work, second try was easier and it worked ok. I'm glad I have a microscope on my desk to aid soldering the tiny part.

That’s some mighty fine soldering work that you’ve done there!
Apologies for choosing the TS12A4514P, but it was the perfect solution for the final challenge I had, in completing the 566 replacement circuit.
The fact that it was also available in a retro friendly DIP8 package, sold it as the best solution for this project.
Understanding that it’s not a common “parts drawer” item, I've bought enough stock from Mouser to get me into the free shipping category (and to ensure I have sufficient stock for Tindie orders).

Thank you for your work on this. My father joined the Royal Australian Air Force in the early 80s as an electronics tech, and one of his projects was to build a Dream 6800 kit - and I have fond memories as a 5yo playing dream invaders on it.
Im planning to build him an emulator using a pi and your hex keypad kit in a 3d printed case resembling the one he used in the 80s for his birthday next month.
Once again, thank you!

You're welcome. And thanks for sharing your nostalgia. It was an amazing time, so it's great to also hear that it even impacted a 5yo with some lasting memories!

Sounds like an interesting project. It would be awesome to hear how it turns out. I'm sure a few of us here will be interested to see what you come up with!
