Re: MECB 8088
Nice, I assume your board would also work with the NEC V20 (D70108) since it's mostly a drop-in replacement for the 8088. AliExpress has a few if you wanted to try one.

Re: Let's Build Some Boards!
I think you hit on a lot of points that I love about 8-bit computing - the power of being able to control just about every aspect of the computer - down to every available bit. Also, that it is not quite as daunting as modern systems (where a lot of that control is limited to the user and/or ...

Re: [v1.2] MECB Motorola I/O + Sound Card
Do you have a programmer like the TL866 family? If so, actual programming of the ATF16V8 or ATF22V10 PLDs is very straight-forward.
I even include the .jed files on the Github, so you can just directly program the .jed images.
Yes, I bought the T48 from AliExpress, which it seems like is the ...

... in person, from a store, in 2026.
Before I realized one of the local electronics parts companies has a partnership with Digikey I ordered several things for my MECB boards from a local shop called Akizuki Denki. Instead of getting them shipped in person I decided to pick them up in Akihabara so ...

Re: [v1.2] MECB Motorola I/O + Sound Card
I trust you are progressing well with your parts lists.
Everything should be on it's way to me now. I think I ended up buying enough CPU components for 10 boards or so. I'm guessing over the next few years I'll have built every 6809 kit there is. :D
It's pretty much taken me the whole day ...

Re: [v1.2] MECB Motorola I/O + Sound Card
There is the full BOM in the Tindie Store listing description, and it also appears as a product image (.png) on the Tindie Store listing.
I knew there was somewhere I forgot to look! I even asked Gemini before I posted and it wrote this ...
Visit the Tindie listing linked above — it includes ...

Re: [v1.2] MECB Motorola I/O + Sound Card
I'm having trouble finding the BOM for this. The other boards have pdfs on GitHub but I'm failing to find one for the I/O board.

Let's Build Some Boards!
A few weeks ago, back in 1981, my uncle showed his new computer a true blue IBM PC. We spent the next several hours playing Zork and when we both got tired of being eaten by a grue he taught me a little BASIC. At that point I was hooked on computers and spent the rest of my life poking and prodding ...
